Thanks you to everyone involved in our Green School initiatives here at MMH JNS. We were delighted to raise our third Green Flag on Friday, October 21st. This flag marks the efforts we make to ensure that we are mindful of the way we use our water supply. We already hold Green Flags for waste management and energy conservation.
This success does not happen without a team effort and we are indebted to our Green Schools Committee comprising children from 1st & 2nd classes as well as Mrs Cullen & Ms Oakes who lead the way by reminding us to keep up our Green school practices on a daily basis. The children, staff and parents work with us too to ensure that we are a truly Green School! Thank you to all involved.
We enjoyed a Green School assembly on Friday where we met Karen Moore from An Taisce who congratulated the school community on the great achievements to date. We sang H2O & This Pretty Planet and our committee explained to us what needs to be done to keep those flags flying high. They also informed us that we will now start working with Karen towards Green Flag No 4 in relation to travel. The committee members, past & present, then joined Karen, Mrs Cullen & Ms Moran outside to raise the flag.
Well done on another great achievement for our school.
