
Doodle 4 Google winners 2011.
In 2011, Layla Karpuz, then a Senior Infant pupil in our school was named the overall Doodle 4 Google winner in Ireland. Her doodle appeared on the www.google.ie homepage for 24 hours and she, her teacher and out school community received a very generous ICT grant from Google.

6-year old Layla Karpuz was the winner of 2011's Doodle 4 Google Ireland competition. The theme was 'To me, happiness is...' Here is what she had to say about her artwork and what makes her happy:
My picture is about the things that make me feel happy. In my picture you can see love hearts, curls, shamrocks, people with fancy hats, people going on a bear hunt, grass men, plants, shamrock plants for Ireland, grannies and a caterpillar because I like searching for caterpillars. I used different colours in my picture because it looks nice. I like my picture!
